Privacy Policy — Bodhinook

Last updated: 2026-09-30 · Developer: TanzSoft (Seoul, Republic of Korea)

Bodhinook (“the app”) is a Buddhist calendar, sutta reader, meditation timer and mala counter app for Android. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect.

No account, no ads, no analytics

Bodhinook has no account, no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, location or advertising identifier.

No internet connection, no location

The store version of Bodhinook has no internet permission and no location permission. Observance days are calculated on your phone from the calendar tradition you choose, and all texts and bell sounds are built into the app, so the app never contacts our servers or anyone else's.

What stays on your phone

• Your settings, bookmarks, last reading position, mala counts and meditation history are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to us.
• Android’s own device backup may include this data if you have turned device backup on; that is handled by Google under your Google account settings, not by us.

Notifications and alarms

Observance-day reminders, the optional verse of the day and meditation bells are scheduled on your phone. The app asks for the notification permission and, on Android 12 and later, for permission to schedule exact alarms so that bells ring on time. Nothing is sent from our servers.

Children

The app is a general-audience religious utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

We may update this policy; changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
