Lullaquill (“the app”) is an Android app for parents. A parent enters a child's first name or nickname, age and a few things the child likes, and the app writes a gentle bedtime story with AI, paints illustrations with AI and reads the story aloud with a synthetic (AI) narrator voice. It also offers classic fairy tales that we retold and illustrated ourselves. This policy explains what happens to data. In short: no account, no ads, no tracking, and your family's stories stay on your phone.
| When | What is sent | What we keep |
|---|---|---|
| You tap “Make the story” | The child's name or nickname, age, the things they like, the story idea, length, “how exciting” level, optional lesson, and the app language | Nothing of the content. We log only the date, language, length, processing time and which AI model answered. |
| Pictures are painted | An English description of the scene and of the story's main character (written by the AI, e.g. “a five-year-old with short brown hair in a yellow raincoat”), plus the first character picture so later pictures keep the same face | Nothing of the content. We log the date, picture type and time taken. |
| You download a classic tale | An ordinary web request for the files | Standard web server logs (IP address, time), kept only for a limited period for security and then deleted. |
| You report a story | The story title, the page text, the reason you chose and your note | Kept for up to 1 year to review and improve safety, then deleted. |
Every request carries a random installation ID created by the app (not linked to your identity, device hardware IDs or advertising ID). We use it, together with the IP address, only to apply daily limits that keep the free service fair. Daily counters are deleted after 7 days.
Our server writes stories with the following providers, in this order; if one is unavailable the next one is used:
These providers receive only what is listed above. They do not receive your installation ID or IP address from us.
Your children's profiles, your stories, pictures, settings and downloaded classic tales are stored in the app's private storage. If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include your stories and profiles in that backup (classic tales are excluded and can be downloaded again). You can also save a backup file yourself in Settings and restore it on another phone; that file goes only where you choose.
Classic tales come with narration we synthesized in advance with AI text-to-speech. Stories you create are read by the text-to-speech engine installed on your phone. Text-to-speech engines run under their own provider's terms; the app sends them only the story text.
If you choose to download the voice pack (about 145 MB, from our server), the narrator voices Luna, Bruno, Nana and Pip are generated on your phone. The voice is created on the device and is never sent to our server, and the story text you listen to is not sent anywhere for this. Downloading the pack is an ordinary file request (standard web server logs, as described above). You can remove the pack at any time in Settings.
The app is meant to be used by parents and caregivers, who choose and play stories for their children. The child does not need to operate the app and no information is collected from the child. Please enter only a first name or nickname. AI-generated stories can be previewed by the parent before the child hears them, and any story or picture can be reported from inside the app.
All connections to our server use HTTPS. Access to server logs and reports is limited to TanzSoft staff.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions: tanzsoftkor@gmail.com
