Routerdesk for iPhone and iPad — Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-11-02 · TanzSoft Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea
This policy covers the Routerdesk app on the App Store ("the app"), a tool for looking after your own home network. The version of Routerdesk on other platforms has different features and its own policy.
In short
- No account or sign-in, no ads, no in-app purchases.
- No analytics, tracking or advertising tools.
- We do not collect personal data. We have no server for this app and receive nothing from it.
What stays on your device
Speed results, room names, device names you give, your outage log, your safety list and your settings are stored only on the device. Router sign-in notes are stored in the iOS Keychain, only on this device, are not synced to iCloud, and open only with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. Deleting the app removes the data the app stored.
When the app goes online
The app talks to outside services only to do the check you see on screen. Like any connection, these services see your public IP address. They are independent of us and follow their own policies.
- Home screen check: Apple's connection test page, and a connection to public DNS addresses (1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8) to tell where a break is.
- Speed test and public address: Cloudflare's speed test servers (speed.cloudflare.com), only when you start them.
- DNS tools: the DNS service you are using, and public DNS services (Cloudflare, Google, Quad9, OpenDNS). The name you look up is sent to them.
- Website checks, certificate check, ping and route trace: the site or address you enter.
- Registration lookup: rdap.org and public registry services, including whois servers. The name you look up is sent to them.
Local network
If you allow local network access, the app reaches your router and devices on your network when you ask it to find them. What it finds stays on the device. Port checks work only with addresses on your home network. Your router's admin page opens in the app and is between you and your router.
Location and Wi-Fi details
iOS shares your Wi-Fi name and security type with an app only if the app has Location permission. Routerdesk asks for this only if you turn on "This Wi-Fi", and you can decline: everything else keeps working. The app does not read your location coordinates, and neither the location nor the Wi-Fi details leave the device.
Reports and shared files
The PDF report, CSV export and guest Wi-Fi card are made on the device and go only where you send them.
Notifications
Reminders are optional and scheduled on the device.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone.
