Salahnook (“the app”) is a Muslim prayer times, Qibla and Quran app for Android. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect.
Salahnook has no account, no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts or advertising identifier.
If you choose “Use my location”, the app asks Android for your approximate location and uses it only on your phone to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction, and to show the name of the nearest city from a list built into the app. Your location is never sent to us or anyone else. You can instead choose a city by hand, in which case no location permission is used.
The Arabic Quran text and one English translation are built into the app. When you choose another translation, the app downloads that file from our website (tanzsoft.com), and once a day it checks the list of translations for new editions. Like any website, our web server records standard technical logs of these requests (IP address, time, requested file, app user-agent) to operate and secure the service. These logs are not linked to any account (there is none), are not used for advertising, and are deleted on routine log rotation.
Prayer reminders are scheduled on your phone from the times it calculates. Nothing is sent from our servers.
The app is a general-audience religious utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
We may update this policy; changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
